Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Baghdad, Iraq 1976 - 1978
A full turnkey project to design, install and operate a carp rearing facility on Lake Habbaniyah , central Iraq. This was our earliest project which was successfully carried out with Kames staff operating and training the local operators. Production of carp reached 800 tonnes before the political situation in Iraq caused the farm to shut down.
Selonda Aquaculture, Greece 1983 - 2000
Kames were founding partners of and technical advisors to Selonda sea bream and bass production from hatchery to market. Kames helped build up the volume of production to over 6000 tonnes by the time their partnership came to an end. Selonda continues to be one of the largest producers of sea bream and bass in the Mediterranean region with volumes in the last few years over 25,000 tonnes. Kames also operated Annomoeasa S.A in Greece from 1994 to 2000 which was a standalone business contract growing sea bream and bass sold through the Selonda group.
Bubiyan Fisheries , Kuwait 1995 - 1997
Installation of farm and limited farm management in conjunction with Selonda for production of Sea Bream (Sparus aurata). Prior to this we worked closely with KISR (Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research) for over 5 years. Bubiyan Fisheries reached production levels of approximately 600 tonnes of bream.
We have also carried out many other projects in the Mediterranean and Middle East region which involved equipment supply and installation or consultancy projects .This included Kuwait , Malta , Cyprus , Turkey ,Iran and Italy.
Connel Fish Farming, Scotland UK 1986 - 1998
Full turnkey project Kames became partners, managers and technical managers of two land based juvenile fresh water hatcheries and six offshore marine on growing sites for Atlantic Salmon. Production volumes peaked in 1990/91 at 3,500 tonnes.
F. M. Chile S.A. 1995 - 2004
Joint venture with Fusion Group UK to establish an equipment and technical advisory division in Chile where fish farming of Salmon id species has grown to almost 400,000 tonnes in the last 15 years. Introducing many technical innovations to the industry in Chile our company was recognised by many in Chile as a vital contributor to the growth of fish farming in the region. Many partnerships and joint ventures were formed during our time in Chile.
Falkland Islands (Fortuna) 2013
Design, supply and installation of small pilot project to ongrow wild caught brown trout in the sea. Survey, site drawings, cages, nets moorings, transport tanks, net maintenance equipment and workboat. Cages are 60m 250 2 ring fully decked.
